After the cat and the frog, Olla Art now offers Appel’s ‘Rustende beer’ (resting bear). A screen print from 1985, printed by Henk van der Vet in his studio in The Hague.
The piece offered is an artist’s proof or épreuve d’artiste (‘e.a’). The regular edition of ‘Rustende beer’ was 50 pieces. The screen print is framed in a artisanal wooden frame (natural maple) with traditional finger joints. The museum glass used, makes the work stand out well.
The screen print is depicted in Ron Couwenhoven’s book about the work of artist/printer Henk Van der Vet, which also includes images of work by Karel Appel and Christian Dotremont (Couwenhoven, 1991).
