Red jug by Klaas Gubbels

New at Olla Art is ‘Red jug on black table’, a woodcut by Klaas Gubbels. An iconic image – perhaps the most sought-after graphic work by the over ninety-year-old, but still working master.

Gelderse Grafiekmap
At the time, the woodcut was part of the ‘Gelderse Grafiekmap’. This folder containing graphic works was an initiative of the Signature Foundation, established in 1977 and based in Brummen (in the province of Gelderland). The aim of the Signature Foundation, which was dissolved in 2022, was to make the work of Dutch contemporary artists accessible to a wide audience. The Gelderse Grafiekmap was produced annually from 1977 in an edition of around a hundred copies and contained graphic works by various artists. In 1996, the twentieth and final folder was published, containing this beautiful woodcut by Klaas Gubbels.

One of thirty
The piece offered is one of thirty Roman numbered copies. In addition, one hundred Arabic numbered pieces were printed. The woodcut was printed on handmade paper; the piece we offer is professionally framed in a wooden frame. The price is 875 euros.

Information
The work can be sent to your home address without extra costs (within the Netherlands).
