Marino from Shakespeare

The Marino Marini collection of Olla Art has been expanded with an etching with aquatint from the suite Marino from Shakespeare, a highlight in Marino Marini’s graphic oeuvre. It concerns suite I and within this suite the very first plate.

The suite dates from 1977 and was printed in an edition of 75 copies, in addition to a Roman-numbered edition of 50 copies and a number of artist’s proofs. The copy offered is number 75 of the main edition. The suite was published by ZWR in London and printed by Labyrinth in Florence. The lithograph is listed as number 349 in the catalogue of the graphic work of Marini Marini (Guastalla & Guastalla, 1991).

The etching on offer was purchased by the first owner, an art collector from Darmstadt, at Galerie Wolfgang Böhler in nearby Bensheim (South-Germany). The etching is not framed and in very good condition. We are of course happy to arrange framing for you.
