Marini’s Chevaux et cavaliers

Just arrived at Olla Art: this beautiful lithograph by Marino Marini. The lithograph forms number IV within the suite ‘Chevaux et cavaliers’ (horses and riders), of which number III is also in our collection.

The suite dates from 1972 and the main edition was printed on Velin d’Arches. 50 Arabic numbered copies were printed on this type of paper and 10 copies on Japon nacré (Japanese paper). The lithograph offered is an ‘épreuve d’artiste’ (artist’s proof), printed on cream-coloured Arches.

The suite was published in 1972 by the Paris Société Internationale d’Art XXe Siècle, in collaboration with Léon Amiel in New York. The well-known house Mourlot in Paris took care of the printing. The lithograph is described and depicted as no. 268 in the work catalogue compiled by the Guastalla brothers (Guastalla & Guastalla, 1991), and as no. L107 in its predecessor, also compiled by the Guastalla’s (Guastalla & Guastalla, 1990).

The lithograph has never been framed and is in excellent condition. Of course, framing can be arranged for you.
