New in the Olla Art collection is an etching by Marino Marini from 1961, simply entitled ‘Composizione’.
The etching was part of the L’Album I portfolio as plate XII, was published by XXe Siècle and printed by the famous Parisian printing house Lacourière on Auvergne du Moulin Richard-de-Bas paper. Roger Lacourière, who founded the studio in 1929, had already retired in 1957, after which master printer Jacques Frélaut took over his duties. The printing house subsequently continued under the name Atelier Lacourière-Frélaut.

In Giorgo and Guido Guastalla’s catalogue of the graphic work of Marino Marini (Guastalla & Guastalla, 1991) the work is included as number 159. The catalogue mentions 15 copies printed on Auvergne du Moulin Richard-de-Bas, numbered 1-15, and 35 copies printed on Vélin de Rives, numbered 16-50. In addition, 15 copies were printed ‘hors commerce’, numbered I-XV.
