Mustachioed wall by Dubuffet

Olla Art’s latest acquisition is a lithograph by Jean Dubuffet from the suite ‘Les Murs’ (1945), one of Dubuffet’s first lithographic projects.
The lithograph shows a man with moustache and a dog against the background of a wall.

Les Murs
‘Les Murs’ is a portfolio with fifteen intriguing lithographs by Dubuffet, on poems by the French poet Guillevic (in full: Eugène Guillevic, 1907-1997).
The individual lithographs are signed and dated in the print. They are part of a limited edition of 192 copies, printed on Montval.
The publication was delivered by the well-known printer-publisher Mourlot Frères in Paris. The offered lithograph is the sixth plate within the suite. It comes from a close collaborator of Jean Dubuffet.
The suite and the specific lithograph are described and depicted in Sophie Webel’s standard work on the graphic art of Jean Dubuffet.
