For the second time, Singer Laren presents highlights from the ABN Amro art collection, this time under the title ‘Appel & Cobra: highlights from the ABN Amro art collection’.
The first time was in 2023 (January 10 to May 7). Then, a selection of 35 years of contemporary painting was presented under the heading ‘Painting Now’, with artists such as Jan Roeland, Marlene Dumas, Shibu Natesan, Emo Verkerk, Esther Tielemans and Evi Vingerling.
This time the museum has chosen works from the early period of the Cobra Group. On display are seven early paintings by Karel Appel. In addition, works by Asger Jorn, Corneille, Constant, Lotti van der Gaag, Eugène Brands and Anton Rooskens are shown.
The exhibition ‘Appel & Cobra’ can be seen from September 3, 2024 to February 2, 2025.
